Hungarian Sectorball Team Championship 2024 – Round 1

Last weekend, on March 9th, the 2024 edition of the first division sector ball team championship kicked off in Komárom. Prior to the first round of the four-stage championship, speculation was rife: would there be a team this year capable of challenging, or even dethroning, the reigning Komlói team, which had clinched two consecutive championship titles? Perhaps the top contenders from last year, Testvériség I or the Vasi GE team? Or the revamped Hírös team? Maybe a surprise contender? Following the first round in Komárom, all we can ascertain for now is that the defending champions have gained a three-point lead over the surprise runners-up, the team from Szeged. Last year, after one round, the Vas county team led by just a single point, while the Szeged team languished in 9th place! Before delving into the results of the first round, let’s take a look at the ten teams comprising the first division (listed in order of ranking).
